Becoming British

Becoming British was a performative exhibition, gathering and space for work centring immigrant narratives and experiences, held at Bloc Projects Gallery in Sheffield.

Curated by Lora Krasteva in collaboration with Bloc Projects and artists Aisha Seriki, Chris Cambell and NikNak, the exhibition contained portraiture, erasure poetry, soundscapes, and workshops.

Throughout the exhibition there was a radio broadcast streaming the activity in the space and a series of interviews around the theme of Becoming British.

“Becoming British” was funded by the Necessity Fund, developed with initial support from Sheffield Theatres and supported by SBC, Theatre Deli and the South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority. Produced by Claire Gilbert.
